Frequently Asked Questions

About working at ING

How will I progress within the company and what opportunities are there?

ING and the employee share responsibility with respect to employability. You will be primarily responsible for your development and employability. Your ING management will support these efforts by creating conditions in which you can work on your own development and continued employability.

Will I have opportunities for additional training and education?

We are committed to encouraging the professional growth of our employees. Continuous and structured development is the key to successful performance in an ever-changing environment.

Will I be able to move to between ING business units?

Yes, that’s possible, depending on your performance and experience. You can talk to your manager or HR manager about your interest in trying something new.

What will my starting salary and benefit package be?

That will depend on various criteria, including function, experience and location. Local salary and benefits packages will apply.

Will ING apply for a work permit for me?

We do not have any work permit restrictions or criteria. ING is an Equal Opportunity Employer and accepts applicants of all nationalities. We will support you in the application process for a work permit and/or visa.

Does ING support international relocation?

Yes. ING has various short and long-term assignment policies. We provide an extensive international relocation package to support you in moving into a new role abroad.

How does ING approach Corporate Social Responsibility?

Corporate responsibility is a fundamental part of our strategy: ethical, social and environmental factors play an integral role in our business decisions.

Everything we do to improve customer satisfaction and search for shareholder return must pass the test of integrity. Integrity means not only strict compliance with external rules and regulations and our business principles; it is also about having the right attitude towards key stakeholders, an attitude driven by fairness and openness. For us, corporate responsibility is a basis, not a marketing tool.

For example, we support microfinance institutions, we run our Chances for Children programme in cooperation with UNICEF, and our operations are fully carbon neutral.
